Baroda Waterfalls, Karuvarakundu is another scenic waterfall near Karuvarakundu, Malappuram. It’s lesser-known than Keralamkundu but popular with locals.Key Details
LocationSituated in the Baroda area of Karuvarakundu Grama Panchayat, Malappuram district. Around 4–5 km from Karuvarakundu town, towards the Koomban Mala foothills. Comes under the Karuvarakundu forest range.Name OriginThe area was once a rubber estate owned by the Baroda Company. The waterfall got its name from that estate. Locals also call it Baroda Kuthu.Features  Height: About 40–60 feet. Smaller than Keralamkundu, but wide and tiered.Rock Formation: Water flows over large, smooth black rock surfaces. Forms multiple shallow pools perfect for wading.Setting: Surrounded by rubber plantations and patches of natural forest. Less steep than Keralamkundu, so easier to access.Water Source: Fed by streams from the Western Ghats. Joins Olipuzha river downstream.Best Time to VisitJune to December. Peak flow during monsoon, June–September. Oct–Dec is safest with good water and clear paths. Dries up mostly in peak summer, March–May.Tourism & Access  Trekking: Very short walk, around 300–500 meters from the nearest road point. No major trekking needed, making it family-friendly.Entry: No official ticket counter as of now. Managed informally by locals. Then a short walk through plantation path.Safety: Rocks are slippery during monsoon. Pools are shallow but flash floods can happen.
